We are By the Bridge, a leading independent fostering provider with a unique therapeutic approach, providing high quality foster care for children of all ages and abilities.
The Role
You will be part of the Yorkshire team based out of the Leeds office, offering direct support to our families with a realistic caseload (10-12 families). Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders, you will enable foster parents to be informed, accept, understand and operate within the regulations and national minimum standards.
You will have support from the therapy team who will offer reflective supervision and also support from our Education Advisors (EAGALs) who build upon the therapeutic parenting work being carried out by our fantastic Foster Parents.
The Supervising Social Worker builds positive relationships between By the Bridge, the foster parent and the child’s social worker. It is a key role that helps the foster parent to sustain the child in placement and ensure outcomes for children are being met within the foster family.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
* Support foster parents to achieve best possible outcomes for all children and foster carers
* Enable foster parents to be informed, accept, understand and operate within the regulations and national minimum standards
* Co‑operate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure placement outcomes are met
Qualifications and Experience
You will have:
* Desire to be a team player focused on best outcomes for children and foster carers
* Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people in social care
* Formal social work qualification
* Registered as a social worker with Social Work England
* Valid driving licence
* Right to work in the UK
