Semi Senior Accountant Role Overview:
This role is ideal for part-qualified or recently qualified Chartered Accountants seeking to broaden their experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing year-end financial statements, managing monthly and quarterly management accounts, and assisting in the preparation of VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare year-end financial statements for a varied portfolio of clients
* Manage monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and corporation tax computations
* Support senior accountants in client meetings and correspondence
* Maintain and update accounting records using cloud software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
* Contribute to internal process improvements and efficiency initiatives
* Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide day-to-day accounting support
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice environment
* Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations (general level only)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
* Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
