Job Description
About the role
Product Eligibility team is a new team forming under the Regional Platform Squad. We are one of the longest-running squads in the company, building the platform for Wise's core domains — Transfer, Payout, and Partner Integrations. We also support product teams to extend platform capabilities for new products and markets.
The main goal of the Product Eligibility team is to help Wise accurately determine which products and features are available to specific customers.
To do this, we need a clear understanding of where our customers reside or operate. One of our first challenges will be overhauling how Wise captures and validates customer residence, location, and address information.
How we work
We operate in an agile manner, with engineers closely collaborating with product managers and analysts. Our team works across Tallinn and London offices.
What will you be working on?
You will be part of an autonomous team, driving the technical vision for your domain. You will contribute to the platform, back-office tooling, and occasionally to customer-facing flows. Your work will help us scale and build a world-class transfer product.
Qualifications
What do you need?
We recognize that candidates may not have all skills listed and support learning on the job. If you have some of the following and are eager to learn more, we want to hear from you!
* You get things done
* Experience with large-scale distributed systems
* Java 8+ knowledge
* Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and schema design
* A strong product mindset and passion for customer experience, making data-driven decisions
* Enjoy collaborating and problem-solving with others
* Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs
* Follow best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and accept open feedback
* Enjoy writing testable code and practicing Test Driven Development
Nice to have:
* Experience with Spring Boot
* Experience with Kafka
* Experience with Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs)
