As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Lead Service Engineer to join our Environment & Safety Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are looking for a motivated, dependable and committed Lead Service Engineer to join our team. As a member of the Water Consultancy & Equipment Team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently as part of a Team, as well as having the capabilities to work independently. Due to the nature of the job, travelling will be part of your day to day role.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
* Equipment Servicing & Maintenance: Service and maintain comprehensive water treatment systems including Softeners, Reverse Osmosis Units, Ozone Units, Side Stream Filtration Units, UV Units, and Dosing Units (requires minimum 5 years of relevant experience)
* Technical Problem Resolution: Diagnose technical issues and execute remedial solutions for water treatment equipment to ensure optimal performance
* Project Leadership: Lead and oversee installation projects for water treatment equipment from inception to completion
* Procedure Development: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop comprehensive service procedures for all equipment manufactured and serviced by the WEQ SOCOTEC team
* Technical Expertise & Support: Serve as the primary technical contact for inquiries regarding SOCOTEC’s water treatment product portfolio
* Process Improvement: Work alongside the Operations Manager to enhance team efficiency through report redesign and operational improvements
* Skills Assessment: Assist in developing and maintaining an engineer competency matrix to support team development
* Training & Development: Deliver comprehensive training programs to new engineers on equipment servicing and maintenance protocols
* Performance Management: Monitor Service Engineer performance and coordinate both internal and external training initiatives to drive continuous improvement
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures across all SOCOTEC and client locations
* Client Site Management: Develop expertise across major client sites and establish detailed service procedures to ensure consistent service delivery
* Travel Requirements: Position requires flexibility for travel assignments, including potential overnight stays and weekend work as operational needs dictate
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
* 3+ years experience servicing water treatment equipment (Softeners, RO Units, Ozone Units, UV Units, Dosing Units)
* Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities
* Leadership experience in installation projects and team management
* Excellent communication skills for technical support and training delivery
* Process development abilities for creating procedures and documentationTraining and mentoring experience with technical staff
* Health & Safety compliance knowledge in industrial environments
* Flexibility for travel including nights and weekend work
* Customer-focused approach with strong relationship management skills
* Continuous improvement mindset with performance monitoring capabilities
