Senior Conveyancer – Residential Property
Location: Derby
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 DOE
Type: Full-time, Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Senior Conveyancer to join a dynamic and supportive property team in Derby. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to step into a leadership position, with clear pathways for career progression — including potential Associate Partner or Partnership status based on performance.
You will take ownership of a diverse residential conveyancing caseload, supervise junior staff and play a key role in business development and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a full caseload of residential property matters from instruction to completion
* Provide guidance and supervision to a Conveyancing Assistant and Paralegal, supporting their growth and professional development
* Deliver an exceptional standard of client care and ensure a seamless client journey, working closely with the Onboarding and Post Completion teams
* Take a lead on complex and high-value transactions in collaboration with the Partner – Head of Residential Property
* Build and maintain strong relationships with introducers and referral sources to support business growth
* Contribute to the development and leadership of the department, playing a key role in succession planning and the future direction of the team
What We’re Looking For:
* Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer with 5+ years PQE, or 10+ years' experience in conveyancing for those qualified by experience
* Proven ability to manage a varied caseload independently and confidently
* Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with experience in managing or supporting junior staff
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both with clients and colleagues
* Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of client needs and introducer relationships
* Adaptability to change and a proactive approach to legal technology and process improvements
* Resilient, detail-oriented, and solution-focused – able to handle challenges with confidence and professionalism
Desirable:
* Experience working in a senior or team lead role within a conveyancing department
* Previous involvement in business development initiatives
* A strong track record of client retention and referrer engagement
