A leading business is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team and support the delivery of accurate financial information across the organisation. Salary / Benefits Competitive salary (to be discussed on application) Opportunity to gain exposure to management accounting and financial reporting Fast-paced environment with excellent learning and development opportunities Supportive finance team with clear progression potential About You You will bring: Excellent Excel and numerical skills, with strong attention to detail A good understanding of accounting principles and journals Strong communication skills, both written and verbal The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop Required / Preferred Experience: Essential: Previous experience in a finance or accounting role Essential: Experience using an ERP system (preferably Microsoft AX or Dynamics) Essential: Experience working in a fast-paced environment Desirable: AAT qualified, ATI qualified, or studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent Nice to Have Skills: Experience with reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and month-end processes Exposure to management accounts preparation and financial analysis Experience supporting AP and AR functions Knowledge of VAT and audit processes Other Requirements: Some travel may be expected Must have employment rights to work in the UK What You'll Do Assist with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and reconciliations Support the preparation of management accounts and monthly reporting packs Assist with financial analysis, including margin, overhead and performance reporting Maintain and improve financial models and spreadsheets used for business reporting Support VAT, Intrastat and audit requirements Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve queries and improve processes Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives as required For further information on this job, apply via the link or contact the VANRATH office for a confidential chat today.
