Data Manager
Overview
* Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience.
* Weekly tips - all our support team receive a share in the our service charge, which we estimate to be around £2,000 per year.

We are looking for a Data Manager to join our team who enjoys engaging
with the workforce to optimise system data and supports in building meaningful
insight tools to aid with the businesses performance.
You’ll be working with the business to implement a data structure that will
give consistency across our tech stack and allows for meaningful insights to
drive commercial decisions.
Working alongside the commercial and operational teams you will be implementing
a change that is futureproofed by transforming our data and ensuring the
controls and audits are in place to preserve future accuracy.
What will your role involve?
· Devise and
recommend a data structure that allows for consistency, transparency, and ease
of amalgamating data from various systems.
· Implement the data
structure to enable a single source of truth for reporting purposes.
· Implement and embed
a structure that has rigorous testing prior to fundamental system changes to
ensure they work for the whole business.
· Use the data
structure to reduce the manual manipulation of data and duplication of
actions/activity within the business.
· To support Finance
and Senior leaders/managers with means to access data to produce commercial
insights and reporting dashboards
· Developing Access
Workspace and with the potential of exploring other BI/reporting tools.
· Set up regimes and
processes to extract, cleanse and reinstate the data in multiple systems to
validate its accuracy and usefulness.
· Implement controls
and audits to preserve the future accuracy of the data.
· Work closely with
business Subject Matter Experts and Technology teams to safeguard data
integrity, ensuring current and future business processes are aligned and
future-proofed.
· Work closely with
Subject Matter Experts to automate data transfer from one platform to another
through APIs
· Implement and
uphold strict data governance processes to ensure compliance with GDPR
regulations.
· Business owner of
data compliance policies, SAR, purges and cyber security.
· Embed best practice
routines to ensure data structure is maintained.
Skills and experience needed
* Experience
in working in an IT or data role, preferably from the hospitality industry
* Knowledge
of EPOS, reservation software and Purchase to Pay systems advantageous
* Brilliantly
organised with an ability to get things done
* Advanced
Microsoft excel skills
* Expert
with wider databases and data management technologies – SQL, Access
products, Shopify, and Power BI, etc.
* Experience
in managing data transformation projects, and using a Data Quality
Framework
* Understanding
of Data Management and Governance
* Ability
to interpret and organize large amounts of data through spreadsheets.
* Experience
in developing and managing procedures, demonstrating compliance with
processes
* Experience
supporting and embedding change, with the ability to influence and drive
the right culture and behaviours
* Ability
to engage and influence at a senior level, both within the organisation
and externally

Our Story
Rick and Jill Stein started our family
run business back in 1975, and today we employ over 600 happy staff. The
business has grown from the first flagship Seafood Restaurant in Padstow to 10
restaurants across the south of England, plus hotel rooms, cookery school,
shops and an online shop. Rick and Jill are still heavily involved in the
business, as are their three sons Ed, Jack and Charlie.
