Role: Business Systems Analyst (Insurance)
Location: Wickford (hybrid, 2 days a week onsite)
Salary: £50,000-£90,000 depending on experience
A UK-based software provider for the insurance sector are seeking a flexible, technically capable Business Systems Analyst to join their team. The role blends business analysis, system configuration, SQL scripting, and report development, often in client-facing projects. The role will fluctuate between hands-on technical work (Systems Analysis) and Business Analysis, so it is essential that you can be flexible and show ability in both areas.
Responsibilities:
Systems Analysis:
* Configuring their systems to meet client specifications using SQL
* Building SQL queries and using SQL to report on and modify databases
* Detailed SQL scripting
* Creating documentation and MIS Reports using Report Builder tools (eg Crystal & MS Report Builder)
* Working closely with developers and end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
Business Analysis:
* Client-facing work to determine requirements, estimate costs, produce project feasibility report and present solutions/proposals
* Translating client requirements into high specified project documents
* Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
* Drawing up testing schedules for the product/model testing
* Writing user manuals and providing training to users of the system
Requirements:
* 5+ years in software development, IT analysis, or insurance systems
* Knowledge of the insurance lifecycle and database applications
* Strong understanding of bordereaux, MGAs, London Markets etc
* Strong SQL configuration experience
