Job Description

Purpose of the role

To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.

Accountabilities

* Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to.
* Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
* Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
* Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank's internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
* Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
* Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.

Join us as VP PBWM Business Oversight Compliance Specialist. You will advise, check and challenge the business to ensure effective management of compliance risk. This team covers the Private Bank and Wealth Management business, and you will partner with Private Banking product and services proposition leads, particularly those carry out due diligence and selecting structured products for our clients, supporting them in their management of compliance risk, helping to ensure they remain compliant with regulation and deliver good customer outcomes.

To be successful as a VP PBWM Business Oversight Compliance Specialist, you should have;

* A good understanding of investment products, investment services and key areas of regulatory focus

* Demonstrable analytical capability with a proven track record of navigating complex issues and delivering clear, actionable insights

* Skilled in managing diverse and challenging stakeholders, building strong relationships, and influencing decision‑making across all levels

* Experience engaging with regulation and associated compliance risks, taking account of both retail and professional client bases

Some other highly valued skills may include:

* Knowledge of private banking and wealth management services

Location: London and Glasgow with 3 anchor days Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
