The Role
To proactively manage and execute scheduled maintenance, inspections, and servicing of equipment to minimize unexpected breakdowns, extend asset lifespan, and optimize operational performance. To replace worn components, lubricate machinery, and troubleshoot potential failures before they cause production downtime. To also review each schedule to seek optimised improvements with more in-depth checking and upload all new-found data into the NWF company CMMS.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and executing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) routines to ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations and safety standards.
* Coordinate the corrective actions found during PM schedules and look to seek “Right First Time” reliable solutions to repairs.
* Conducting regular inspections on mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment to identify issues, such as replacing filters, checking for leaks, or recalibrating instruments.
* Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, parts replacements, and safety checks to meet health, safety, and operational standards, using our in-house CMMS system.
* Analysing equipment data to identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability, efficiency, and reduce waste.
* Managing spare parts inventory and coordinating with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
* Learn fluently the new IFS Ultimo Computerised Maintenance Management System (training will be given).
* Play a critical role in minimizing unscheduled downtime, which helps companies avoid costly repairs and ensure smooth production processes.
Person Specification
* Time served qualified engineering technician.
* BTEC HNC / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
* ATEX experience would be an advantage.
* Fluent in Microsoft office.
* HACCP level 3 desired but training can be given.
* IFS Ultimo (CMMS) training can be given.
* Can demonstrate experience in the setup and leadership of a PPM programme.
* Experience & Knowledge of delivering CI activities
* Experience and knowledge of Engineering stores, stock management.
* Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in English at a Technical level.
* Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills
