We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Traffic Rail Planner to join our growing team based on our Ipswich Depot. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimising rail traffic plans to ensure efficient, and reliable operations driven by utilisation and profitability. You’ll work closely with operations to ensure the traffic plans are implemented and administered with high attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
* The planning of daily traffic sheets by service maximising utilisation and profitability
* Optimise internal and external volume ensuring logistical and geographical sense
* Monitor KPI, SLA’s and customer reporting
* Develop and maintain train schedules and traffic plans in line with operational requirements
* Monitor live operations and adjust plans in response to disruptions or changes
* Liaise with internal teams, Rail Operators
* Analyse performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
About You
* Experience in rail planning, transport logistics, or a similar operational role
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proficiency in planning tools like Paris and Tops, or similar transport modelling systems
