Strategy Director – Hotels.com

Responsibilities
* Own Strategy Development: Play a key role in defining & operationalizing key short, medium, and long‑term Business Travel strategic initiatives to improve the consumer performance and competitive positioning
* Evaluate strategic Business Travel opportunities and develop perspective on implications and actions for the traveler:
o Monitor the Business Travel ecosystem to identify market trends
o Identify business / value driver opportunities and risks
o Frame strategic options, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop clear, data‑backed business cases to drive executive decision‑making
o Communicate findings to senior stakeholders, build buy‑in
* Own end‑to‑end process from inception through market activation of prioritized Business Travel strategic initiatives:
o Working with cross‑functional stakeholders such as Product & Tech, Marketing, Supply, Pricing, Finance, Analytics
o Operating with autonomy i.e., independently frame problems, drive alignment, and move work forward with limited oversight, while keeping leadership appropriately involved
* Financial Planning: Partner with finance on annual financial planning processes
* Performance Metrics: Regularly evaluate performance against targets against established financial KPIs
* Data‑Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics to drive informed business decisions
* Global Alignment: Foster consistency and alignment across diverse markets
Experience and Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience, with a combination of the following:
o Business Travel
o Business strategy:
+ Establish cross‑functional plan to bring strategy to life
+ Develop business case leveraging analysis in an ambiguous and fast paced environment
+ Identify and evaluate key market trends, opportunities, and risks
+ Think long‑term, anticipate market trends, and adapt to changing business landscapes
o Launching new business (e.g., entrepreneur, start‑up, managed new business / product launch):
+ Demonstrate ability to turn strategy into business results and drive growth
+ Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring new business to life
+ Own process from inception through market activation
* Top tier management consulting or Tech company
Compensation
The total cash range for this position in New York is $224,000.00 to $313,500.00, with potential to increase to $358,500.00 based on performance. In Seattle, the range is $207,500.00 to $290,500.00, with potential up to $332,000.00.
