Waking Nights Care Assistant
Join Alcedo Care in Carlisle as a Night shift home care worker. You will support a young woman with an acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, epilepsy and complex care needs, working 1–1 in her home. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months recent care experience.
Pay
£14.75–£15.25 per hour.
Shift Pattern
* Waking nights 20:30–08:30
* Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
* Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
* Alternate weekend working (other patterns discussed during screening).
Requirements
* Minimum 6 months recent care experience with complex care clients (young adults or children, autism, neurodiversity, non‑verbal support, cerebral palsy, epilepsy/seizure management, mental health and challenging behaviours).
* Level 2 or 3 NVQ in health care advantageous.
* Experience providing 1–1 moving and handling, including ceiling track hoists and full personal care support.
* Excellent communication skills; experience supporting non‑verbal individuals using alternative communication methods.
* Experience providing emotional support and working in distressing environments.
* Reliable commitment to the shift pattern.
* Own car and a UK driving licence preferred.
