Specialist Medicines Information Pharmacist

An exciting opportunity is available within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist with a specialist interest in Medicines Information to join the team in providing safe and timely medicines advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
This role suits enthusiastic, experienced pharmacists committed to improving patient care. Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and excellent communication are essential.
Our Pharmacy Department
Our progressive and friendly pharmacy department consists of approximately 300 staff. The department provides clinical services to diverse patient groups across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including many highly specialised services. Our department is proud to prioritise the inclusion of all staff and we support everyone to achieve their potential.

Main duties of the job
* Provide a specialist Medicines Information service under the guidance of the Lead Pharmacist - Medicines Information.
* Provide support to the Medicines information team in the absence of the Lead Pharmacist - Medicines Information.
* Develop, analyse and report the Medicines Information KPIs as part of a program of audit/service evaluation.
* Be an active member of the clinical pharmacy team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Masters level degree in pharmacy.
* Post‑graduate foundation training (pre‑registration year).
* Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Completed Certificate (Year 1) of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy / General Pharmacy Practice.
* Completed year 1 and year 2 of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy / General Pharmacy Practice.
* Diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent).
* Qualified and registered as an Independent prescriber.
* Risk management training.
Experience
* Moderate post‑registration hospital experience including prescription screening in inpatients/outpatients, medicines reconciliation, medicines information.
* Experienced clinical pharmacist who has covered a range of specialities, including elderly care, acute medicine, specialist medicine and surgery (including general surgery and other surgical specialities).
* Documentation in medical notes.
* Writing reports.Writing or assisting in writing drug policies and guidelines / PGD development.
* Evidence of having conducted a clinical audit.
* Recent post‑registration hospital experience, ideally including previous experience in a teaching hospital and experience of more than one hospital.
* Experience of working in Medicines Information.
* Evidence of having written pharmaceutical and/or educational publications.
* Experience as a personal tutor to a range of staff groups.
* Drug expenditure analysis and reporting.
* Horizon scanning.
Knowledge
* Good clinical knowledge of drugs and therapeutic trends.
* Knowledge of NICE and NHS guidance and examples of local implementation.
* Knowledge of health‑care systems and NHS change.
* Familiar with the use of a range of visual aids for teaching.
* Pharmacy computer systems training.
* Knowledge of formulary or NICE Technology Appraisals.
* Knowledge of UKMI.
