The EU AMZL Central Operations Contingency Response Center (CRC) is focused on ensuring Delivery Stations and Last Mile Stakeholders across all business lines receive support for live emergency situations that threaten safety and customer promise to include, but not limited to, civil unrest, severe weather, logistics disruptions, site closures etc. The CRC LSE & Program Mgr. will lead events in such scenarios, helping devise mitigation strategies - taking into account safety and the best interests of our customers and associates - and coordinating with relevant stakeholders across Last Mile, Middle Mile, Supply Chain and SME teams according to existing playbooks. They will drive continuous improvement programs and initiatives improving safety, network resilience and balancing tradeoffs for LSE detection, triage and response. Key job responsibilities - Manage the network's contingency response and report on post-event outcomes and impacts - Lead programs improving contingency response working with stakeholders across operations, supply chain and upstream teams. - Manage dissemination of network communication via email, internet chat, and phone - Direct immediate emergency actions within thresholds considering on-the-ground inputs, forward looking plans and available protection levers - Earn Trust with stakeholders across business lines to build rapid consensus across teams in ambiguous situations - Lead escalation calls with Directors and relevant decision makers from across Amazon - Make quick, correct decisions while considering upstream and downstream effects on the delivery network A day in the life - Lead internal Start of Shift calls - Evaluate severe event intel and track live data sources for alerts - Communicate with stakeholders to formulate action plans in case a LSE signal is received - Track improvement opportunities and make progress in continuous improvement programs About the team EU Central Operation Contingency Response Centre's (EU CO CRC) coordinates management of Large Scale Events(LSE) impacting AMZN Last Mile Nodes. An LSE is an incident that impacts a Delivery Station/Stations ability to safely continue operations and has customer impact, potentially resulting in a high number of promise misses. The team liaises with multiple stakeholders across business lines to ensure safety and minimize internal and external customer impact. Basic Qualifications -A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university. Experience managing high stakes events in a production, distribution, central operations or similar environment. Experience with planning, standard work, performance metrics, and process improvement Good competency with excel and reporting. -Ability to work in a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience in operations management - Prior Experience managing external/internal events impacting site operations (MHE failures, adverse weather, volume management issues) -Performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience -Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field. Leader who exhibits that in every day work. Competency with process improvement frameworks (Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma). Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and when given a deadline ability to self-motivate. Competency in public speaking and writing papers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. -Experience with analytical work and using data to provide thought-provoking and workable solutions. Keenness to volunteer to lead projects and help team achieve goals; a track record of taking ownership and driving results.
