We are currently looking to hire a Workplace Health & Safety Technician to join the team and play a critical role in supporting the Amazon Logistics Operational teams onsite. We seek an independent individual who can also be a team player with the current WHS team members.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands-on, customer-obsessed individual, passionate about safety, and able to drive strategy to build an engaging, safe environment. They will identify, coordinate, and drive improvements in safety while engaging operational and support function stakeholders. The candidate should be flexible regarding travel and working hours, as the environment is fast-paced.
Key job responsibilities
1. Assist with risk assessments and follow-up control measures to completion.
2. Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the Technician knowledge level.
3. Monitor the station for compliance with safety procedures.
4. Assist with incident investigations to establish root cause and develop action plans.
5. Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses, and accidents.
6. Produce weekly safety reports as required.
7. Attend monthly health and safety meetings.
8. Undertake projects to identify hazards and assess risks within the station.
9. Implement action plans to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation.
10. Maintain confidentiality in safety investigations.
11. Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures for compliance.
12. Monitor Smart Handling safety procedures for compliance.
13. Conduct EHS training sessions for managers and associates as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Full UK Driving Licence
* NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety or NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
* Experience in metrics reporting, data analysis, and problem identification
* Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation and relevant regulations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
