Job Duties

Manages assigned budget operation areas to ensure daily operations are efficient, timely and without errors resulting in the highest budget office standards.

Fully participate in all phases of the budget development process.

Analyze, and develop reports that demonstrate the fiscal health of the University.

Create analysis which are clear and concise to forecasts current and future needs of the University.

Ensure the successful implementation and closeout of the E&G operating budgets.


Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:

• Knowledge of and experience in using mainframe and/or server based administrative computer systems required.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s planning and budgeting cycle, preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting for public higher education institutions, preferred.
• Skilled communicator and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience in providing excellent customer service to the public required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to complete analyses and present results; immediate proficiency in WORD and EXCEL and the aptitude to become proficient with ACCESS within 6 six months, required.

Additional Considerations

A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, or Public Administration is preferred.

A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management or Public Administration is preferred.
