Overview
CHEDS is a Tier 4 CAMHS Specialist Eating Disorder Service offering intensive inpatient, outpatient and day patient provision. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Band 5 mental health nurse with a specialist interest in working with young people with eating disorders to join the new CHEDS Day Hospital team at Ancora House. The post holder will develop and promote a therapeutic relationship with service users and support the day to day running of the service and coordination within the MDT. The Day Hospital runs from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Responsibilities
* Develop and promote a therapeutic relationship with service users.
* Support the day to day running of the Day Hospital and coordinate within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Provide practical meal support and deliver therapeutic group sessions.
* Work within a multidisciplinary framework to place the patient at the centre of care and promote high standards of practice.
Requirements
* Registered Band 5 Mental Health Nurse with a specialist interest in working with young people with eating disorders.
* Ability to develop therapeutic relationships and engage in recovery-focused care.
* Ability to work within a MDT and demonstrate the 6 C’s in practice: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.
* Understanding and application of person-centred, compassionate care principles.
* Willingness to participate in practical meal support and group-based work.
