In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that all financial transactions comply with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) requirements. You'll be a trusted member of the finance team, helping maintain the integrity of our client and office accounts and contributing to the overall financial health of the business.

* Reconciling bank accounts regularly and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
* Processing payments and receipts for client and office accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
* Assisting with the preparation of client bills and managing disbursements.
* Raising invoices for client and office accounts and ensuring payments are allocated correctly.
* Managing incoming and outgoing payments and ensuring timely processing.
* Supporting internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
* Keeping financial processes up to date with the latest SRA and SAR regulatory requirements.
* Maintaining accurate client transaction records and ensuring compliance standards are met.
* Preparing financial reports for the finance team, management, and auditors.
* Offering general administrative support and assisting with ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed.
We'd like you to have:
* Experience as a Legal Cashier or similar role within a law firm.
* A solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and broader SRA regulations.
* Experience with SRA‑compliant financial systems, and ideally LEAP or Xero (desirable but not essential).
* Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Clear and confident communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external auditors.
* A relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, CIMA) — desirable but not essential.
Benefits:
* 23 days holiday + UK bank holidays
* Life assurance
* Private health care for you and dependents
* Employee assistance programme, including GP line, cashback for treatments, advice line
* Season ticket loan
* Rental deposit loan
* Annual leave purchase scheme
* As part of the HFIS Group, access to discounted personal insurance is available
