The Opportunity
We are recruiting an Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our Environmental Technical Team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). This is your chance to be part of the first new nuclear power station in the UK in a generation, playing a key role in reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UK’s Net Zero goals.
You’ll lead the preparation and management of environmental permit applications, ensuring compliance and timely delivery across the construction and commissioning phases. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and regulators, sharing knowledge and driving efficiencies across project phases.

The salary for this role is £55,000 per annum.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading and coordinating environmental permit applications and variations, ensuring alignment with the HPC project schedule.
* Supporting Environmental Managers and Technical Leads with permitting and technical topics.
* Working with internal stakeholders and managing contractors for specialist assessments.
* Ensuring permits are secured on time to enable safe and compliant construction.
* Supporting commissioning and operational teams, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices in environmental permitting across EDF.
Who You Are
* Strong background in environmental science or engineering, with experience in environmental permitting.
* Knowledge of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2016.
* Experience working with regulators like the EA, NRW, or SEPA.
* Excellent communication skills, team player, and thrive in high-stakes environments.
* Ideally working toward chartered status with experience in nuclear or major infrastructure projects.
