The role supports the business through robust financial planning, performance analysis, and insightful reporting to drive continuous improvement. It partners closely with Operations, Sales, and Finance to provide clear, practical financial insight that supports decision‑making. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and re‑forecasting aligned to business activity, delivering detailed performance and variance analysis across price, volume, mix, and cost.
Main Responsibilities
* Support the business through planning, analysis, and providing clear insight to drive performance improvements
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business activity
* Produce regular analysis on performance, including variance analysis across price, volume, mix, and cost
* Provide insight into customer and product profitability, highlighting risks and opportunities
* Analyse inventory trends (stock levels, ageing, slow‑moving items) and support actions to improve working capital
* Work with Operations, Sales, and Finance to provide relevant and practical financial insight
* Help standardise reporting and improve consistency of KPIs across the business
* Support working capital initiatives through analysis of inventory and customer trends
* Present financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders to support decision‑making
* Build understanding of financial performance across the business and challenge where appropriate
Skill Requirements
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong FP&A and commercial finance experience
* Strong analytical and modelling capability, with ability to translate data into actionable business insight
* Ability to influence and challenge non‑financial stakeholders effectively
* Advanced Excel and modelling skills; strong presentation capability
* Occasional travel required
Working Hours
Monday – Friday (38 hours per week, half day Friday)
Location
Round Spinney, Northampton (Office based, with some flexibility for occasional home working)
