Teacher of Construction and Engineering
From September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter
This is a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher of
Construction and Engineering to join our team here at Ysgol Gyfun Heolddu Comprehensive School.
This post is a new post due to the growing number of pupils at our school and the increase in offer of examination subjects across this faculty area.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and possess the skills to inspire and motivate students with a broad range of abilities across Key Stage 3 and 4. They will teach the range of subjects in the faculty at Key Stage 3, and will offer their specialist subject at KS4 and even KS5 for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone who will build and sustain a range of opportunities for our fantastic young people to develop their creative skills both in lessons and in extra-curricular activities.

The Design faculty is a highly popular and high-performing subject area at Ysgol Gyfun Heolddu with a wide range of qualifications on offer at GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will join a committed team of teachers who work effectively together to secure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
Estyn 2026 found that Heolddu school ”is a caring, warm and inclusive community that provides effective guidance and support for its pupils. Staff know their pupils well and work effectively together to provide high quality support for pupils’ well-being, in line with the values of the school. As a result, most pupils behave well and are friendly and polite to each other and visitors.”
