About the role
The Housing Team Leader, leads a team who manage the Councils Housing stock in a specific geographical area. They need to maintain the teams focus on delivering excellent customer service whilst also undertaking necessary duties to ensure the health of our communities and undertake income generating work. No two days as a Housing Team Leader are the same which is great, but also will demand excellent personal organisation and initiative.
As our next Tenancy Team Leader you’ll lead a team that deliver on the councils core values, and improve the lives of residents of the Leeds City Council area.
The role is integral to our landlord service.

Job Description
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage an efficient, customer focused Housing management service, in order to maximise performance and seek continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
11. Delivering the overall housing management service within a geographical area or the overall sheltered support service within a geographical area within the Neighbourhood Services area of Older Persons Housing.
12. To work in partnership with other teams and departments to ensure joined up services to tenants and other service users.
13. To line manage and supervise a team of staff including completion of appraisals, one to one’s, in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
14. To develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders including: tenants, applicants and other partner organisations.
15. To take a people-orientated solutions-focussed approach to dealing with customers, quickly and professionally.
16. To ensure value for money in service delivery.
17. To contribute to the delivery service improvement plans.
18. To work with team members to ensure the delivery of high quality services and achievement of performance targets.
19. To contribute to the development, review and improvement of policies and strategies in line with current legislation and best practice.
20. To contribute to the improvement of local service delivery in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders and partners.
