Business Systems Analyst
Location: Coventry, UK (hybrid/remote)
Salary: £35,000-£45,000
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Hours: 40 hrs/week, flexible start/finish
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Systems Analyst to join our team. You will analyse business needs, identify and implement effective solutions, and ensure that our systems and processes align with our strategic goals. You will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation and delivery of our works programming system, as well as other core business system and technology transformations.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
* Evaluate current business processes and systems, conduct gap analysis, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
* Collaborate with IT and development teams to design and implement system solutions that meet business objectives.
* Develop test plans and conduct system testing; identify and resolve defects with development teams.
* Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
* Create and maintain comprehensive documentation (business requirements, functional specs, process flows, user guides).
* Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end‑users; provide ongoing support.
* Act as liaison between business units and IT teams; facilitate communication and keep stakeholders informed.
* Drive continuous improvement within the works programme management and core business systems.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field (advantageous but not essential).
* Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst with strong problem‑solving skills.
* Proficiency in business analysis, process improvement, and project management methodologies (e.g., SDLC).
* Strong communication, organisational, and data analysis skills; experience with tools like MS Visio, Lucidchart, or JIRA.
* Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
* CBAP, CCBA, or similar certification is a plus.
* Previous maintenance is preferred.
* Full driving licence.
