Head of Farming
To lead the Farming team through a time of significant change, both internally and in agricultural policy following the repatriation of agricultural policy to Westminster. The Head of Farming is responsible for creating and implementing the Company’s Farming business strategy in the short, medium, and long term.
Responsibilities
* Work in conjunction with the Head of Rural to implement effective business plans and vision.
* Be accountable for delivering the agreed strategy and driving high performance across the Farming department.
* Focus on business development to cultivate existing clients and establish new ones.
* Manage own client relationships.
* Collaborate with the Head of Rural to develop a culture of process improvement through training, communication, and system development.
* Achieve budgets and reforecast the Farming department's financials.
* Communicate financial information effectively within the department.
* Be a visionary and inspirational leader.
* Drive the vision of the Company, rural, and farming businesses.
* Work with leadership and HR to hire the right talent and foster a high-performance workforce.
* Inspire, coach, mentor, and develop successors, including top talent identification.
* Promote a business development ethos throughout the business line.
* Act as a role model for organizational behavior.
Person Specification
The candidate should be a strong communicator, highly numerate, adaptable, and flexible. They must be an experienced and credible agriculturalist who can represent Strutt & Parker authentically. They should support and articulate the business vision, creating clear plans to drive performance and measurable results.
Qualifications
* Degree in an agricultural discipline.
* MRICS (optional).
* CAAV (optional).
* BASIS and FACTS (desirable but not required).
Experience
* Proven record in the Farming sector with consultancy and client management experience.
* Experience in team leadership and inspiring performance growth and profitability.
* Strong market profile as a leader and new business generator.
* Experience delivering presentations, reports, and commentary to various audiences including media and webinars.
