As a Field Sales Manager at Polypipe, you'll be at the forefront of driving regional growth through a dual approach: creating demand via specification with developers and contractors, and building stronger partnerships with merchant customers. This role balances account development with sales execution, ensuring Polypipe's position as the first choice in both open specification and merchant markets.
Specification Sales & Opportunity Conversion
* Identify and convert specification opportunities across private and social housing developers, local authorities, contractors, groundworkers, and site managers.
* Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers including technical, commercial, and procurement teams.
* Manage project opportunities using CRM platforms for early engagement and real-time tracking.
* Position our full product range effectively at all project stages to drive value and volume.
Merchant Development & Account Management
* Manage and grow sales with regional merchants, maximizing share of wallet, stockholding, and POS visibility.
* Deliver tailored presentations and campaigns aligned with branch and group objectives.
* Foster strong relationships with branch managers and influencers to support pull-through activities and gain market share.
* Collaborate with internal teams to meet trading plans and growth targets.
Sales Execution and KPIs
* Achieve and surpass volume, revenue, and specification pull-through targets.
* Meet weekly customer call expectations.
* Maintain accurate sales activity records via CRM and planning tools.
* Communicate customer goals clearly while maintaining relationships.
Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
* Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer sentiment.
* Support compliance and reporting requirements.
* Stay updated on product solutions, regulations, and construction trends.
Qualifications include proven sales experience, preferably in construction or manufacturing, with skills in specification sales, channel management, and data analysis. A full driving license is required for travel. The role emphasizes commercial acumen, communication skills, and familiarity with sales tools like CRM and digital marketing.
