The role in a nutshell
As a key member of our Platform team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to advance platform strategy, cloud automation, and developer experience within UNiDAYS.
You will collaborate closely with our software engineering teams to identify areas for improvement to enhance developer experience and boost engineering productivity. You will take a hands-on approach to improve system performance, reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency.
Our platform team also aims to eliminate barriers for other teams, enabling faster delivery through shared tooling. We promote operational excellence, focusing on automation and self-service capabilities.
We seek a commercially-minded Platform Engineer who can bridge user needs with business goals, building resilient, cost-effective solutions and staying abreast of technological trends.

Day-to-day responsibilities
* Build, test, and deploy cloud services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Collaborate with software engineers to add value and support their cloud needs
* Identify new technologies and drive platform improvements, shared tooling, modules, and packages
* Create and enhance self-service capabilities for software teams
* Monitor platform performance, focusing on SLIs and SLOs from an SRE perspective
* Define, improve, document, and implement best practices continually
* Participate in on-call duties once a month, with a simple runbook in place
What we need from you
* Strong cloud knowledge with hands-on experience in AWS services
* Experience with ECS clusters across multiple environments
* Knowledge of security, networking, CDN, load balancing, and storage solutions
* Understanding of CI/CD practices across environments
* Development experience in core languages such as C#, Python, and TypeScript
Nice to have
* AWS/Terraform certification
* Database administration experience (MSSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, Neptune, Redshift)
* Experience mentoring or sharing knowledge with engineers
* Knowledge of containerization
* Operational experience in incident resolution and RCA
