We need someone who can oversee the morning load-out, keep our systems updated in real-time, and support a team of drivers & warehouse staff with confidence.
Job Description
Role Purpose
The Operations & Warehouse Supervisor is the bridge between our warehouse and the road. You will ensure that every vehicle leaving the Martock depot is loaded correctly, documented accurately, and that our digital systems reflect the physical reality of our stock and freight.
Key Responsibilities
* Inbound/Outbound Oversight: Checking off inbound freight, identifying damages, and logging discrepancies immediately to protect the business.
* Driver Management: Printing manifests, briefing drivers on their routes, and handling queries throughout the day.
* System Accuracy: Ensuring the TMS and Pallet Network portals are updated live, including the processing of PODs and delivery paperwork.
* Stock Control: Processing warehouse orders and maintaining meticulous manual and digital stock sheet records.
* Operational Safety: Ensuring the warehouse floor remains safe and efficient during the morning peak.
Candidate Profile & Skills
Essential:
* Logistics Background: Proven experience in warehouse or transport supervision.
* Technical Ability: Proficiency in using Transport Management Systems (TMS), Google Mail, Word and Excel.
* Communication: Firm but fair leadership style for driver briefings and depot liaison.
Highly Desirable:
* Pallet Network Experience: Familiarity with the specific workflows of a pallet network
* Forklift License: A valid Counterbalance license to assist with loading/unloading when required.
* Detail Oriented: A "right first time" attitude toward paperwork and freight checking.
