About Our Client
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a commercially focussed Managing Director to join a heavily invested and expanding circa £20M t/o manufacturing business who supply into the building and construction sector directly into contractors, merchants and through export markets.
Job Description
* Create, implement and execute a strategic plan designed to optmise performance. This will be demonstrable through positive sales turnover growth and increased profit margin.
* Inherit a growing business with the objective to evolve the business by delivering innovative sustainable products.
* Control of all aspects of the business and for the balance sheet including forecasting and budgeting.
* Lead, mentor and develop the senior leadership team.
* Delivery of sales growth across all customer channels including builders merchants and distribution, project specification, sub and main contractors and growth of export markets.
* Work closely with and collaborate with customers, partners, suppliers and key stakeholders within the business to maximise sales and become intimate with the inner workings of all sides of the group.
* Focussed on organic growth of existing businesses to drive proactive growth.
The Successful Applicant
* A well rounded commercially focused Managing Director with full P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility.
* Commercial background with a strong understanding of the construction supply chain with exposure and experience developing business through builders' merchants, buying groups, contractors and via specification with architects.
* Experience in an export or international sales development would be desirable but not essential.
* Demonstrable track record of success in driving organisational change and delivering results embracing innovation.
* Proven track record of growing businesses profitably.
* Understands and manages risk - commercial, operational, financial.
* An open, down to earth and likeable personality with honesty, integrity and strong business acumen.
