Warwickshire County Council’s Out of Hours Emergency Social Work Duty Team are looking to appoint Level 4 Advance/Enhanced Advanced Practitioners with experience in working with children. Applicants will need to have 4/5 years post qualification experience in children services. The role is varied and covers all aspects of working with vulnerable children and families and adults with emphasis on safeguarding. There is no risk of you being bored due to the variety of the work. You will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides a statutory social work service to all service users, carers and agencies that require an emergency response outside of normal working hours. The team operates shift patterns and annualised hours to include weekends, evenings/nights and bank holidays. The role includes dealing with incoming referrals during out of office hours, working with families including vulnerable adults and children in a restorative manner to assess problems/crisis and to intervene appropriately and proportionately. Ensuring they have an in-depth working knowledge of children/adult legislation and a willingness and desire to learn and be able to practice generically is essential. Managing a specific shift safely and with confidence; Understanding data and how to use it to improve performance and keeping accurate recording and using the relevant integrated children’s IT system The role requires the commitment of the post holder to be self-motivated, reflective, keen to learn and develop and with an overall knowledge of national agenda’s and how they impact on local service delivery.
