Monarch Education are working with a secondary school in the Kingstanding area who are looking to bring in a SEND Teaching Assistant from September. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent, and it's a great opportunity for someone who wants to be properly involved in supporting students, not just sitting on the side of the classroom. You'll be working closely with students who need extra support day to day - helping them stay engaged in lessons, build confidence, and manage within a school environment. The school are looking for someone who is approachable, consistent, and confident working with a mix of needs. You'll be part of a supportive team, but you'll also need to be comfortable taking initiative and building your own relationships with students. What the role actually involves: Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups throughout the school day Helping pupils stay focused and on task in lessons Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation where needed Breaking down work so it's more manageable and accessible Building trust and consistency with students over time Working alongside teaching staff and the SEND team What they're looking for: Experience working with young people (school, care, coaching etc.) Confidence managing behaviour in a classroom environment Someone calm, patient and able to stay consistent Good communication - able to build rapport with students and staff A genuine interest in supporting learners who need extra help This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, is confident in a school setting, and wants something where they can actually make a difference day to day.
