LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT (various hours available)
Salary: £23,557 up to £25,428 pro rata
TERM TIME ONLY POSITIONS
We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our established Learning Support Department. The Learning Support team provide a range of support services to existing and prospective learners within the college. These additional needs arise from a learning difficulty or disability.
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive learning support service to identified learners in order to ensure their learning objectives are met, working across the college with the learners of different needs from Foundation Learning to Apprenticeships. You will support learners individually and/or in groups working towards objectives determined by tutors, ensuring that best working practice is observed to enable learners to achieve; as well as maintaining records of learning support provided for auditable purposes in order to ensure objectivity and maintain quality within the service.
The post holder should have some knowledge around EHCP and how these are used to promote learning and independence.
It is essential that candidates hold 5 GCSEs or equivalent, a minimum of Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy qualifications and possess or be willing to work towards a Level 2 Supporting Adult Learners or equivalent qualification. Applicants should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have experience of working with post 16 students, students with learning difficulties or disabilities and students with healthcare needs.
