Manufacturing Manager / General Manager required for a manufacturer of electrical products based in Arundel. We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the manufacturing process - from receiving raw materials through to the dispatch of finished products. This position plays a key role in supervising the production team, resolving day-to-day operational challenges, managing procurement activities, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.

Manufacturing Manager Job Overview
Goods In / Goods Out
Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring prompt and accurate handling of goods.
Oversee warehouse activities including stock accuracy, space utilisation, and general inventory management.
Implement strategies to maximise warehouse efficiency and minimise material wastage.
Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, internal quality procedures, and health & safety guidelines.
Procurement and Supplier Relations
Establish and maintain productive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely procurement at competitive rates and suitable minimum order quantities.
Monitor stock levels in line with re-order points and adjust as needed to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Use MRP systems effectively to make informed purchasing decisions based on production forecasts.
Work collaboratively with Sales and Finance to align inventory levels with company targets.
Support Engineering on new product introductions by assisting with supplier selection and taking ownership of ongoing supplier management.
Production Oversight
Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer requirements and inventory objectives.
Lead the production team to achieve high standards of quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Continuously refine production processes to drive performance improvements and reduce waste.
Ensure regular equipment maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure operational reliability.
Leadership & Strategic Direction
Provide clear and supportive leadership across departments, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement.
Review operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions promptly.
Develop and deliver short- and long-term strategies that align with overall business goals.
Work closely with Sales and Engineering to ensure production is aligned with customer demand and market needs.
Foster a positive and productive working environment by setting clear expectations, recognising high performance, and addressing underperformance swiftly and fairly.

Salary dependent on experience but likely £55k-£65k
