Consultant Rheumatologist
We are looking for one dynamic and motivated individual to join our Rheumatology Department at Tameside. The hospital team currently consists of four consultants, with an expanding specialist pharmacy and nursing team. The department has good links with the University of Manchester, other Rheumatology centres within the North West Deanery, and local Primary Care colleagues.
This post represents an exciting opportunity to join one of the pioneering integrated care organisations in the country, transforming the way care is delivered to improve the health of the population it serves. It offers exposure to a variety of clinical settings and the chance to be at the core of transforming our services into a truly integrated model of health care. The Rheumatology team has spearheaded key service transformations within the Trust, such as implementing Model A (DMARD) hospital transition, developing an Early Arthritis Pathway, Giant Cell Arteritis Pathway, and initiating a Fracture Liaison Service. The ambition is for the workforce to continue expanding throughout 2025 with the addition of further consultant posts.
We are happy to consider applications for full‑time or part‑time candidates and welcome informal discussions or visits to meet the team.
