We are seeing an experienced HLTA (English support). You will be supporting small groups of English across the school.

Unsted Park School has an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with 44 acres of surrounding grounds. We are a SEN school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 7 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. We are looking for someone with the passion, enthusiasm and drive to support our young people in achieving their potential. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

10. Providing support for learners, teachers and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage learners to become independent, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of learners in all aspects of school life
11. You may be asked to teach/cover classes that are clearly structured, interesting and motivating
12. Be aware of difference, promote inclusion and ensure that learners have equal access to opportunities t learn and develop. Foster and maintain positive relationships with all learners, parents/carers, visiting professionals and members of the local and wider community
13. Use behaviour and management strategies in line with school policies and procedures and promote the emotional well-being of all learners
14. Monitor, assess and evaluate learners progress through a range of activities and give verbal and written feedback to learners, parents/carers on their progress
15. Contribute to the ethos and aims of the school by attending meetings and training sessions and by making a positive input at those meetings to the ongoing development of policies and procedures
16. Assisting teachers in the support, training, mentoring of other learning support assistants

We are looking for someone who:

17. Has a level 3 qualification or over 5 years relevant experience
18. Has experience of supporting young people with SEN
19. Demonstrates a deep understanding of the educational and emotional needs of pupils with diverse learning requirements
20. Possesses excellent communication skills to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
21. Exhibits strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage individualised education plans effectively
22. Shows flexibility, adaptability, and resilience when faced with challenges or changing circumstances
