Teacher of Mathematics

Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver high-quality teaching and maintain effective use of resources to improve standards of learning and achievement.
* Support the Head of Department with coordinating 11-18 provision, pedagogy, systems, intervention, pupil achievement, and results analysis.
* Tackle under-achieving pupils in a structured and supportive way.
* Plan collaboratively on a weekly basis or as indicated by the Head of Department.
* Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
* Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
* Organise and manage groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities.
* Ensure effective use of support staff within the classroom.
* Plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional, and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant field.
* PGCE or equivalent.
* Qualified teacher status.
* High standard of subject knowledge and enthusiasm for mathematics.
* Experience of and willingness to teach GCSE.
* Ability to monitor, evaluate, and improve learning in the classroom.
* Effective time management and personal organisational skills.
* Well-developed ICT skills for the classroom.
* A high level of commitment and enthusiasm for the department and extracurricular activities.
