Location: Waltham Cross, Herts
Shift Pattern & Times: The position requires 45 hours per week, including a Sunday night shift. Flexibility in hours is needed, as additional work may be necessary based on workload. The night Warehouse team operates from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and the successful candidate must manage their hours within this timeframe.
Salary: £48,000 - £54,000, depending on skills, experience, and competencies.
About the Role
As the Warehouse Operations Manager for our night team, you'll be reporting to the Head of Warehouse Operations. Your main goal will be to lead and manage the performance of our night warehouse function and its teams. You'll be responsible for delivering agreed budgetary and service levels, while ensuring that strategies, policies, and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and Developing: Manage and develop Team Managers and their teams to deliver outstanding service and performance.
* Setting Standards: Direct and monitor Team Managers to ensure targets and standards are achieved.
* Resource Management: Ensure the team has sufficient resources to meet daily needs, balancing commercial awareness with staff deployment.
* Operational Planning: Coordinate short- and long-term operational workload plans with contingencies.
* Performance Analysis: Analyse performance and processes to optimize costs and improve KPIs.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across all operations.
* Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement and promote new ideas constructively.
* Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications: Good spoken English is essential. English and Maths GCSE (grade C or above) is desirable.
* Experience: Significant experience in coaching and developing first-line managers in an operational environment. Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office.
* Skills: Ability to manage resources effectively, set and achieve measurable targets, and work within set budgets. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
