Our client a leading Trade Distributor in their field are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join the friendly team of long-standing employees.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm (40 hr week)
Location: Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4UH

About the Role
As a Warehouse Operative you wil be a key member of the warehousing and logistics team.
Your focus is to safely, accurately and efficiently carry out goods-in, goods storage and goods-out processes to maintain high levels of service to the customers.
The nature of this role will involve a large proportion of physical work including lifting and carrying. The Responsibilities include:
* Goods in, goods out and general warehouse tasks
* Unload pallets/deliveries from couriers and ensure unloaded goods match the paperwork
* Accurately book-in goods into the barcode scanning warehouse management system (WMS)
* Safely and accurately store goods into their storage bins / shelves
* Rotate goods between storage locations to optimise storage space and picking speeds
* Pick goods from their storage bins in readiness to customer orders
* Pack goods securely to avoid damage in transit and operate heat-shrink wrapping machine.
* Create delivery labels for goods and load courier vehicles with goods
* Resolve delivery discrepancies in liaison with our purchasing team and suppliers
* Assist with inventory management and daily stock check tasks
* Check weights on stock items as appropriate
* General administration for warehouse tasks
About You
Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative? You will require the following skills:
* Physical strength, fitness and dexterity, as you will often have to lift heavy packages
* Excellent team-working skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods
* Honesty and trustworthiness
* The ability to work effectively under limited supervision
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Good numeracy skills
* Experience working in a similar environment/department
* Forklift truck / Bendi license would be an advantage but not essential. Training can be given as required to the appropriate candidate.
