About the Role
As an Aquaculture Husbandry Technician, you'll join a dedicated team caring for salmon stock at various stages of development - from hatchery to sea. Depending on your placement, you'll work either on marine sites or freshwater hatcheries, supporting the health, welfare and growth of fish in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sea Site Technicians
* Feed and monitor fish appetite to optimise growth and feed conversion
* Operate manual and automatic feeding systems
* Check net integrity, remove mortalities, and record cause of death
* Support grading, splitting, and treatment operations
* Maintain walkways and uphold site cleanliness
* Relay instructions and support junior staff
* Participate in weekend rota
Hatchery Operatives
* Feed, grade, move, and vaccinate freshwater stock
* Monitor fish health and remove mortalities
* Record data and maintain site hygiene
* Support welfare and environmental standards
* Participating in rotational evening duties/on call
What We're Looking For
Experience in aquaculture is a plus but not essential. We welcome candidates with transferable skills, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Full training is provided, including ML5 medical and industry certifications (covered by the company).

Pay & Perks
* Starting salary: £27,500 to £29,000 pa depending on experience
* Overtime: x1.5 weekdays / x1.75 weekends

* Permanent: For experienced candidates
* Temp to Perm via Agency: For those new to the industry (hourly rate of £14.10 per hour based on 37.5 hours/week equivalent)
