The basics:
Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer
Salary: Up to £47,500 DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday – 7:30 am–4:30 pm and Fridays 7:30 am–2 pm
Contracted hours: 40 per week
Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.
Overview:
Working within modern purpose‑built manufacturing facilities, the Senior Quality Engineer will be employed by a precision engineering business that manufactures components and fabrication for the aerospace, nuclear and defence industry.
Brief overview of duties:
* Support the Quality Manager in maintaining certifications.
* Conduct product and system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer‑specific requirements.
* Compile documentation packs to support product delivery and traceability.
* Provide engineering support for Visual and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine quality standards.
* Apply First Article Inspection techniques in line with AS9102 requirements.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Use quality tools to detect, contain and investigate non‑conformances, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
* Define and apply process control methods, including identifying critical control points and developing work instructions.
The ideal candidate / Senior Quality Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
* Experience with data collection and analysis.
* A strong background at implementing quality systems within a precision engineering environment – aerospace / machining / fabrication or similar.
* Experience in Lean/problem‑solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.
* Knowledge of 6‑Sigma process beneficial.
* Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer.
