The role: Are you ready to make a tangible impact with our clients in the Government sector? Join our well-established and rapidly expanding team within PwC's Supply Chain and Procurement team, where we specialise in delivering transformative solutions for our clients. While providing an opportunity to work across various sectors, the primary focus of this Manager Consultant role is to lead value-driven initiatives for our Government and Public Sector clients across the procurement lifecycle. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in public sector procurement, cost reduction, operations improvement, and digital transformation to deliver strategic insights and lead complex projects. Your work will enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support digital innovation and procurement transformation, making a significant difference. The role is based in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, or Edinburgh.
What your days will look like:
* Procurement: Deliver procurement projects aligned with Public Sector regulations and best practices (e.g., Procurement Act, Sourcing Playbooks), including designing delivery models, category strategies, procurement strategies, managing procurements from market engagement to contract award, and implementing effective contract management and strategic supplier relationship management.
* Cost Reduction: Conduct cost analyses, identify savings opportunities, develop cost management strategies, and lead initiatives for cost control and reduction.
* Operations Improvement: Analyze current practices, identify improvements, develop operational strategies, and lead change management to adopt new processes and technologies.
* Digital Transformation: Guide clients through digital transformation in their procurement functions, identifying opportunities for automation, data analytics, and technological advancements, and developing strategies to enhance operational capabilities.
* Client Engagement & Leadership: Build strong client relationships, lead project teams, manage timelines, ensure quality, and mentor junior staff.
This role is for you if:
* You have experience in the public sector focusing on procurement, cost reduction, operations, and digital transformation.
* You possess hands-on experience with public procurement regulations (PCR, UCR) and understand the Procurement Act.
* You have a proven track record of successful project delivery in consulting or industry roles.
* You have strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* You are proficient with relevant tools and technologies used in public sector procurement.
* You are willing and able to travel as needed.
