Offer description

We are currently looking for hard working, enthusiastic and friendly people with a Diploma in ODP NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds 752 or a 1st Level Nurse with a current anaesthetic competency certificate to join our fast-paced Acute Theatre Suite. All applicants must be a member of UK HCPC or UK NMC register. Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service and will include shift and weekend work and rotational nights as required. Our vision is to have a multi-skilled workforce with rotation through Anaesthetics/Recovery and Scrub duties as qualifications/experience allows. We offer wide and varied surgical specialities to include Maxillo Facial, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Urology and Paediatrics, covering Elective and Emergency procedures in all the aforementioned specialities. We currently have specialities that use Robotic Assisted Surgical Technology, this is a relatively new innovation within NHS Fife and envisioned to evolve over time. We provide a comprehensive anaesthetic assistant service which includes the operating theatres as well as outlying areas such as the Emergency Department resuscitation area, ECT unit, Community Dental Unit, and Interventional Radiology as and when required. The Fife Elective Orthopaedic Centre is a National Treatment Centre of Excellence that opened Spring of 2023 and hosts 3 Theatres. You should possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team and have evidence of continuing professional development. Our department is supported by 1 full time and 2 part time Clinical Educators as well as a part time Education Coordinator. Theatres can be an intense fast paced environment with a team working ethos being at the heart of the service we provide. If you enjoy a challenge and would like to join this busy, friendly unit, then this may be the post for you. Informal enquiries to Tel: 01592 643355 Ext 28288 for ACLP Leah Wood, Ext. 28954 Team Lead Kirsty Russell. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application. We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here. It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
