Job Description
We have a brand new opportunity to join our team as a Group Projects Controller. This role supports the Group functions, operational and commercial teams by providing clear analysis and insights on group wide projects and initiatives, developing business cases for projects where required. The successful candidate will partner with the Group and BU finance teams to ensure that relevant information from group wide projects and initiatives is shared and understood, supporting the BUs to embed initiatives into budgets and forecasts, where required.
Key responsibilities of the Group Projects Controller:
* Works with Group operational stakeholders to build portfolio of information
* Produce business cases and ad-hoc analysis as required
* Understand stakeholder objectives and priorities to builds their objectives accordingly
* Build standard reports for key areas to provide transparency of performance to the Exec and senior teams
* Supports the commercial decision-making process by developing guidelines and templates
* Supports BUs to deliver group wide projects
* Supports the strategic financial planning process by bringing transparency of the financial impacts of group wide initiatives
* Ensures that short term budgets and forecasts are aligned with financial targets defined by group wide projects and initiatives
* Communicates expectations from BUs clearly and on a timely basis to ensure alignment on group-wide initiatives and projects
* Gathers information from a wide range of sources to support stakeholder decision making
Qualifications
Behaviours:
* Strong and proactive communication with senior colleagues
* Builds strong relationships and rapport with stakeholder groups by understanding the functional objectives, ways of working and different personalities
* Is curious about how the business works and proactively builds knowledge which in turn enhances their credibility as a finance business partner
* Well organised and able to manage many stakeholders, competing priorities and tight deadlines
* Gets into the required level of detail to provide clarity and assurance that business cases and analysis is accurate and reliable
* Able to step back and explain the bigger picture to senior stakeholders
* Comfortable working in a matrixed environment where group decisions impact BU P&Ls
Technical Skills;
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACMA) with 3 years PQE
* Experience utilising data analysis skills
* Experience of business case and scenario analysis
* Strong Excel skills
* Good presentation skills
Relevant Experience;
* Evidence of industry working with senior members of the Executive team.
* Experience of commercial projects an advantage
* Experience of finance business partnering essential
