We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Luton who are recruiting for a Support Worker on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately and is a full-time role. The salary is £24,000.00 - £26,000.00 per annum depending upon experience.
The ideal candidate will have similar support experience within a mother and baby hostel, be willing to get an Enhanced DBS carried out, drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Working with approximately eight service users within the mother and baby unit and the all-female hostel
2. You’ll carry out assessments of new customers, devise and implement support plans and risk management plans
3. Conduct regular coaching sessions and support the Service Managers
4. Participate in group and one to one intervention with customers of a specialist nature (e.g. CT informed interventions, motivational interviewing or harm minimisation interventions) where possible
5. Participate in reflective practice sessions with regards to supporting customers with complex needs
6. Signpost service users to external support agencies
7. Supporting colleagues to influence and bring about positive change to the customers behaviour
Experience required:
8. Experience required in Social Housing
9. Strong knowledge of safeguarding protocols
10. Similar support experience
11. Conducting Health and Safety checks
12. Signposting to external support agencies
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
13. Previous experience within social housing as a Support Worker or similar
14. Strong understanding of a mother and babies needs
15. Access to own vehicle and a valid driving license

Working hours:
21. 37.50 hours per week
22. Monday – Sunday, Shift Patterns between 7:00am – 3:00pm, 11:00am – 7:00pm, 9:30am – 5:30pm
23. One weekend in four
