Overall purpose of the role The role of the Principal Industry Consultant in Retail Banking, Europe, is to lead the Retail Banking consulting for Europe (inc. UK) within the Banking and Capital Markets (BCM) Industry Vertical Team (IVT), in collaboration with the Payment IVT. Reporting to the Global BCM Industry Principal Consultant, the job holder will play a key role in helping our customer build better systems through: Providing an advisory service to our clients - supporting them in their strategic goals, and helping position Endava as their go-to partner for execution Giving opinions on the industry we serve and thought leadership Providing deep insight into the industries, opportunities and client delivery, through to informing how we brief the analyst community Actively taking part in the bid process, so maximising our chances of success by developing compelling and relevant proposals to our clients Long-term delivery-side engagement with Endava's clients, supporting their strategies and identifying broader account opportunities. At an operational level, this will also involve: Providing strategic advice to senior management on business operations and goals Assisting in developing a long-term vision of the industry and Endava positioning to meet growth plans in Retail Banking Partnering with and supporting our sales team, providing industry specific knowledge Developing client relationships, giving client advice and defining coherent strategies for improving business performance Networking, influencing and positioning Endava within the market Conducting research and analysis to identify market opportunities for new products or services Assisting in developing marketing strategies that build brand awareness and increase sales Participating in building accelerators such as proofs of concept and architecture blueprints. Sharing industry knowledge within Endava and help develop a global expertise Contributing to the BCM community and working with the TAC, to support pre-sales and delivery. Suggest and establish partnerships with third parties What skills and experience do you need? Based in our London Offices, the role requires to be able to meet in London on short notice At least 15 years of experience in Financial Services and the Banking industry, in a technology leadership role. The incumbent would typically have been in a similar consultant role or a FinTech CTO, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect in Retail Banking. Strong sector expertise in Retail Banking including, but not limited to Core Banking functions, Embedded Finance implications, Customer Digital Experience, Onboarding, and Regulation. Ability to speak to trends and key challenges in the sector, and strategy of major players. Strong expertise, and ideally previous experience in implementing leading Core Banking Platforms and Banking as a Service. Exceptional client interaction skills, collaborative work style, strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence and position Experience of leading and working effectively in global organisations with multi-disciplinary teams A capable strategist experienced in the development of business and technology strategies Ability to listen, understand what the client wants and translate that into actionable plans A thought leader with the ability to provide valuable insights to our clients Significant evidence of having built and maintained a strong professional network Drive, motivation, the ability to develop cogent arguments and present them concisely to a wide range of stakeholders Ability to foster innovation and a team-oriented work environment Committed to staying up to date, keeping skills relevant and maintaining a competitive advantage in the workplace.
