We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with Team Teach training to join a supportive and forward-thinking Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wythenshawe. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
About the Role:
Supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting the class teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery
Using Team Teach strategies to safely de-escalate challenging behaviour
Building strong relationships with students, staff, and external professionals
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Requirements:
Team Teach certification (essential)
Experience working in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting
A calm, confident, and consistent approach to behaviour management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable:
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Youth Work, Psychology)
DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
