A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Resource Manager to join its growing Finance function and support the expansion of its cutting-edge legal teams. The Opportunity This is a newly created position, reporting into the Head of Financial Planning and offers the chance to build and shape the firm's resource allocation approach from the ground up. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting a range of highly specialised legal teams, including Technology, Cyber & Data, Content & Advertising, and Brand Protection. These teams work with some of the world’s most innovative clients, delivering high-impact legal solutions across the tech, digital, and creative sectors. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead the resourcing and allocation function for the department, acting as the go-to expert for partners and fee earners. Understand pipeline and upcoming work, collaborating closely with Business Development to match the right people to the right opportunities. Improve and streamline work allocation systems and reporting tools. Balance workloads and ensure fair access to stretch and development opportunities. Support with recruitment and headcount planning based on performance insights and utilisation metrics. Provide data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and capacity planning. Partner with the Talent and HR teams on onboarding, performance, promotions and exits. About You Previous experience in resource allocation or work allocation, ideally within a legal environment. Confident communicator, able to influence and advise senior stakeholders. Analytical mindset with strong commercial awareness. Familiarity with resourcing or workforce management software. A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a strong team ethic. Experience adapting systems and processes to meet varied business needs.
