Join our dedicated Care Team at RBVE Village as a Bank Worker, which allows you the flexibility to take on hours when it suits you!

Your role is more than care it’s about empowering independence. The purpose of this role is to provide domiciliary care and support to RBVE’s veterans and residents, helping them live as independently as possible. As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you’ll work within a supportive team of carers, housekeepers, hospitality and wellbeing catering staff, administration, and maintenance colleagues. You’ll provide compassionate, person-centred care in residents’ own homes within Queen Elizabeth Court, Greenwich House, and across our vibrant community. We believe in promoting health and wellbeing, enabling residents to stay active, independent, and living life their way.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Follow residents’ personalised care plans, identifying any further needs they may have and reporting to Team Leaders so that the ongoing needs of the residents can be catered for.
* Attend to the personal care of the resident including washing, showering, bathing, drying, toileting, dressing and undressing, oral hygiene, personal appearance.
* Help with sensory aids including hearing aids and glasses.
* Awareness of residents’ mobility needs. Assistance with getting in and of bed/chair in accordance with safe working practices. Moving and handling awareness, knowledge of mobility aids and their safe use.
* Assisting with medications including overseeing self-medication and administering of medications. Assisting with ordering repeat prescriptions.
* Overseeing the nutrition and hydration of residents. Helping residents prepare their own food or preparing and cooking for the residents in accordance with food hygiene guidelines. Washing-up, cleaning and tidying the kitchen.
* Awareness of any additional needs that the resident may have, such as supporting those with a learning disability, those with a debilitating health condition.
* Make beds daily and change bed linen when required.
* Cleaning the bathroom daily.
* Laundry – washing and ironing clothes and putting away.
* Clean and tidy residents flat, ie vacuuming, polishing, washing floors and inside windows, in accordance with the residents’ wishes.
* Support calls to include shopping, companionship, help with appointments, welfare chats.
* Document all care given to residents in accordance with CQC/RBLI requirements.
* Reporting of any safeguarding concerns in line with RBLI’s safeguarding policy.

This role requires a completed DBS check before the candidate starts. The level of check required for this role is ENHANCED.
