About The Service
Cardiff School Based Counselling Service is a friendly and committed team of counsellors. We provide an independent school-based counselling service in all maintained secondary schools and the Pupil Referral Unit in the Local Authority. We also offer counselling to pupils in Year 6 of primary school. The service operates a face-to-face counselling model, with some work outside of school hours and settings.
About the job
You will work in comprehensive schools, primary schools, and community settings, contributing to the ongoing development of counselling services within Cardiff Local Authority.
You will have regular access to clinical and managerial supervision, alongside continuing professional development opportunities.

What We Are Looking For From You
* You will hold a professional diploma in Counselling, with evidenced post-qualification supervised practice, and be accredited/registered with BACP/UKCP or equivalent.
* You will have a good understanding of Safeguarding, Social Inclusion, and Well-being agendas.
* Experience working with schools and providing counselling support to primary children (Years 5-6) is desirable.
Additional information
The advertised salary is based on a full-time role (37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year). The actual salary will be proportionally lower for part-time hours and weeks worked.
This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
