We are looking for a commercially focused General Manager from the lifting industry to help move our sales and service offering forward in the UK. Based in the Midlands, but traveling throughout the UK, you will have experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance/service contracts.
Salary: Up to GBP 100,000

Job Description: General Manager, Strategic Sales Manager in Industrial, Heavy industrial manufacturing
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will replace the retiring General Manager who has been in post for circa 30 years. You will oversee a business with a turnover of circa GBP 7m, split between equipment sales (GBP 5m) and service revenue (GBP 2m), managing 5 direct and 15 indirect reports across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop UK Sales and Service teams to achieve revenue targets and align with company goals.
* Set sales objectives and strategies, motivate the sales team.
* Oversee leadership elements including coaching, performance management, recruitment, and training.
* Develop the team of 4 Key Account Managers / National Account Managers.
* Develop aftersales and service teams to maximize revenue.
* Report regularly on sales performance to the Managing Director.
* Conduct market analysis to monitor competition and economic indicators.
Person Specification:
* Proven track record of commercial success in sales and people leadership within the lifting industry.
* Experience across Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors.
* Presence and gravitas to drive sales strategy as the face of the business.
* Managed a sales budget of GBP 5-15 million.
* Experience with service offerings alongside capital equipment sales.
